Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo says Manchester United transfer target Antoine Griezmann will be at the club for a "long time."

French reports had suggested Griezmann, 25, agreed personal terms with United in January, ahead of what could be the second most expensive transfer of all time.

But speaking to Spanish radio station COPE, Cerezo appeared to put the brakes on any prospective summer transfer for the Frenchman, who won the Golden Boot as top scorer at UEFA Euro 2016.

"Every time I see Antoine I give him a hug," Cerezo said. "Antoine is a fantastic player and loves life at Atletico.

"I don't know what Manchester United's interest is. But Griezmann will be at Atletico for a long time."

United manager Jose Mourinho wants Griezmann to share the scoring burden and augment the club's attack alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who reached 20 goals for the season in all competitions by scoring in the English Premier League victory over Leicester City on Sunday.
