Apple has unveiled a series of new devices this week while discontinuing several older models in a major refresh of the company's product line.

The launches span multiple product categories—including iPhones, iPads, Mac laptops and displays—while older versions of those devices have been removed from Apple’s lineup.

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple introduced several new products across its ecosystem during the week, including updates to its MacBook, iPhone and display lines.

Why it Matters

Apple frequently retires older products when new models arrive, and the company is rapidly transitioning its lineup to newer silicon and improved baseline specifications.

Many of the updates include faster processors, larger default storage configurations and updated wireless connectivity standards.

Those improvements are designed to support increasingly demanding features and software capabilities across Apple’s ecosystem.

New Additions

Apple introduced several new devices this week across its iPhone, Mac and display categories.

The iPhone 17e replaces the previous entry-level iPhone model and includes more storage and faster performance. It also adds a new “soft pink” color option alongside black and white finishes.

Apple also refreshed its Mac laptop lineup with the M5 MacBook Air, which replaces the M4 version and offers faster solid state drive (SSD) speeds, improved wireless connectivity and larger base storage.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro lineup now features M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, along with higher baseline storage and faster performance.

Apple also introduced two new monitors: an updated Studio Display and the new Studio Display XDR, which replaces the company’s earlier Pro Display XDR.

One of the biggest surprises was the MacBook Neo, a new lower-cost laptop starting at $599. According to 9to5Mac, it runs on Apple’s A18 Pro chip—the same processor previously used in the iPhone 16 Pro.

Discontinued Products

As Apple introduced new devices, several older products were removed from sale.

According to 9to5Mac, the following products have been discontinued:

What’s Next

More changes could still be coming.

Apple is also expected to introduce a new base iPad powered by an A18 chip, which could lead to the discontinuation of the current 11th-generation iPad model, according to 9to5Mac.

The tech giant is expected to announce a foldable iPhone and other products later this year.
