'Being Right Sucks:' Watch How 'The Simpsons' Reacted to Predicting Donald Trump's Presidency

The Simpsons offered a mea culpa of sorts Sunday night after it predicted a Donald Trump presidency 16 years ago.
The chalkboard gag in the titles of Sunday's latest episode saw Bart scribbling: "Being right sucks."

The animated comedy's official Twitter account shared a clip with the caption: "The Simpsons updates its 2000 prediction of a Trump presidency…"
In 2000 episode "Bart to the Future," The Simpsons successfully predicted Trump's presidency when Bart was given a peek into his adult life. In this future Springfield, his sister, Lisa, is the first female president of the United States and has inherited "quite a budget crunch from President Trump."
Dan Greaney, who wrote the episode, told The Hollywood Reporter in March that the line was a "warning to America."
"That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane," he said.
