'Better Call Saul' Fans Are Upset That the Emmys Snubbed Star Rhea Seehorn (Again)

Tuesday morning, the nominations were announced for the upcoming 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards. Fans and critics were upset on social media over actress Rhea Seehorn being snubbed for her performance as lawyer Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul.

According to the official Emmys website, the AMC drama nabbed about seven nominations, including Best Drama Series. Although Giancarlo Esposito earned a nod for Supporting Actor, his co-stars did not receive the same recognition. This is a shame because Seehorn gave such a riveting performance in the season 5 episode, "Bad Choice Road."

In the suspenseful scene, the drug lord Lalo (Tony Dalton) drops by unannounced at Kim's apartment. Lalo suspects Kim's partner, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), of lying to him. Unfortunately, Saul is at a loss for words as he stumbles repeating his fabricated story. Kim realizes she has to take control of the tense situation, or else Lalo will start shooting.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Better Call Saul actress discussed how Kim managed to outsmart Lalo.

"She can't deal with the emotional response to what's happening because there's nothing that can be done except sit there terrorized. So she flips that switch of what, for her, is really her superpower—and is now getting her in a bit of trouble [laughs], but believing that she can somehow reason out of this, break it down to a debate that she can win," Seehorn said.

"It was more like, 'I hope I can say three things and he'll back down or get out.' And she keeps having to say more and she's searching for, 'What gets under this guy's skin? How can I win this argument intellectually?'" she added.

Fans and critics were shocked over Seehorn's Emmy snub and spoke out on Twitter.
