Cat Sat Under Dripping Faucet Has 'Existential Crisis' in Viral Video

We all have bad days and moments of reflection, and it seems that this also extends to our felines friends.

A video has recently gone viral on TikTok showing a cat sitting in a sink with the faucet dripping water onto his head as the animal stares out into the distance.

The forlorn-looking animal's stoic stance has prompted many on TikTok to joke that the pet is either having an "existential crisis" or "going through some personal stuff."

The short video was shared to the social media site by user Sarah Cruz, known online as sarahcruz06, and it is her cat Ori who is letting the water drip onto his nose, without breaking his intense stare.

Cruz, who has more than 50,400 followers on the app, has captioned the hilarious video, writing: "Rebooting #fypシ #foryou #cat #TeamofTomorrow."

The adorable yet strangely emotional footage, which can be watched here, has gained a lot of traction online since it was posted on August 7, having been viewed by 2.8 million people and surpassed 864,500 likes.

Many people rushed to the comments section to share their opinion on the cat's peculiar behavior.

One TikTok user, Terrastormbourne, wrote: "Oh god is he alright? That looks like an existential."

Another person, Zachery Baldwin, added: "He's going through some personal stuff right meow."

Rxbiduss stated: "When you realize there is 8 more lives to go."

Bestieswhatsupwatcoochie joked: "I don't know what he's going through but I can deeply relate."

Swaiyee revealed: "I dissociate like this every day. It's a coping mechanism."

Zac Compton explained: "It's either not a single thought, or every single thought to be had."

Luna Moon joked: "He's remembering his time in the wat poor kitty cat."

Kiki the Krskur observed: "The thoughts behind those eyes: world domination."

Newsweek have contacted Cruz for comment.

Recently, another cat's behavior humorously went viral on TikTok when footage was captured of the feline knocking a dog off a chair.

In a clip shared to Twitter by American journalist Jeff Yang, the tabby can be seen sitting on a wooden dining table opposite a Shiba Inu who is attempting to bite it.

When the cat then attempts to defend itself by swiping the dog back with its paw, the pooch, as if in cartoon-like slow motion, falls off the chair at to the ground—a must-see scenario.

The nine-second clip is caption by Yang: "Not my dog's best moment." It has so far been watched by nearly 500,000 viewers.
