Dog Leaps Up on Kitchen Counter for Fries in Hilarious Video

We all crave junk food from time to time, and one very persistent dog on TikTok appears to be no different.

In a video posted to the app by Tristan Maloney a small dog can be seen leaping up at the kitchen counter to try to snatch a french fry.

On the first attempt, which is filmed in slow motion, the pet drastically misjudges the location of the fry and her eyes bulge as she realizes her mistake.

The dog then tries again, her ears flopping slowly as she falls back down to the ground disappointed.

A third time the pooch misses narrowly, as she grazes the fry with her teeth.

After this the dog manages to get the fry in her mouth a few times, clearly having learned from her mistakes.

Maloney captioned the humorous footage, which can be viewed here, writing: "Her face [laughing-face emoji] #fyp #4u #doge #cute."

Since being posted on July 30, the video has gone viral having been viewed a whopping 7.9 million views and 1.5 million likes.

Many took to the comments section to share their opinions on the clip, with many finding it very amusing.

One TikTok, Cloud, wrote: "After the first jump she was like *target acquired*."

Another person, Alex, added: "This was a cinematic experience."

Sebastien R. Teller typed: "This is absolutely the dramatic masterpiece I need to see today."

Corbin Caron gushed: "His eyes every time he falls back down," alongside a laughing-face emoji.

Danny Edgington commented: "Those French fries are very important to that dog."

Kim Ariel revealed: "The solid laughs I got from this! This is where I end TikTok for the day! Thank you! Haha!"

However, some people felt encouraging the dog to try to eat the fries was not the best idea, with Gary Quick writing: "Training your dog to jump up and take food off the counter may not be a good idea long term."

BarbLovesDogs4ever added: "This is so cute, but you might not be aware that dogs should not eat potatoes. It's like eating chocolate, grapes, raisins, bad plants, etc. Very bad."

The America Kennel Club confirms that french fries are not so healthy for canines, writing: "If you do feed your dog a potato, it should be baked or boiled, with nothing added to it.

"Potatoes fried in oil, such as French fries or potato chips, or potatoes with butter or salt added to them are not healthy for dogs."

However, it is not known whether the fries in the clip are oven-baked, or the dog even actually ate them.

Newsweek have reached out to Maloney for comment.
