Dwayne Johnson Stunned by Lookalike Cop After Photo Goes Viral

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has finally seen a photo of the Alabama cop who bears a striking resemblance to him, several days after his snapshots went viral.

Morgan County Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields—who, like Johnson, boasts bulging muscles and a clean-shaven head—became a social media sensation in August, after his image was shared on Facebook and TikTok.

And on Monday, Johnson became one of the latest social media users to catch sight of Fields, when he came across a Bleacher Report tweet stating that he and the lawman look "exactly" alike.

Apparently stunned by the resemblance, Hollywood movie star Johnson wrote on Twitter: "Oh s***! Wow. Guy on the left is way cooler. Stay safe brother and thank you for your service."

Offering to drink his own brand of tequila with Fields at some point in the future, Johnson added: "One day we'll drink @Teremana and I need to hear all your 'Rock stories' because I KNOW you got 'em... #ericfields."

Responding to the post, Fields shared a photo of himself holding a bottle of Teremana, as he wrote: "Thanks brother & cheers."

Earlier this month, Fields became the talk of social media when a photograph of him was shared by his office on Facebook.

The image showed Fields posing alongside a Walmart worker, and was captioned: "This gentlemen recently ran into Sgt. Mason and informed him he wanted to meet our Deputy that people say looks like 'The Rock'.

"Sgt. Mason passed that along and Lieutenant Fields was happy to swing by the Hartselle Wal-mart to see him. Tyler is one of their many hardworkers and it was great to meet him and some of his coworkers!"

Oh shit! Wow.
Guy on the left is way cooler.

In an interview with The Birmingham News, Fields, 37, said that his likeness to Johnson, 49, has long been "a running joke" among his colleagues—and he's also been compared to another movie star.

"I've been called The Rock and Vin Diesel's love child," Fields said. "I go along with it. It's humorous. It's flattering. It could be worse people, I guess."

Fields also admitted that he didn't want people to have movie star expectations when meeting him—though he added that he will sometimes do impressions of Johnson and Diesel, if pressed to do so.

"I don't want to disappoint anybody," Fields said. "I walk up one day and at a different angle, I don't know. It's flattering, but it's also a little nerve-racking as far as what others expect I guess.

"I just plan on being me. I'll cut up. I'm a big cut-up. If it comes up and somebody says that, I'll play along. I really couldn't be anybody but me. I'm just glad I could be part of someone's happiness and laughter."

According to The Birmingham News, Fields has worked for the Morgan County Sheriff's Office for 17 years. After working at the local jail, in investigations, in the special victims unit, and with drug-endangered children, he was sworn in as a deputy U.S. marshal.

Fields was later promoted to corporal, before working his way up from sergeant to lieutenant over patrol. In his current position, he handles tactical training. He also serves as a firearms instructor.
