After news broke that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker spent a late night at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas, fans found it quite similar to how Kardashian and former boyfriend, Scott Disick, almost got married in the same city, in the same manner.
Barker proposed to Keeping Up With the Kardashiansstar on the beach surrounded by large candles and roses back in October of 2021. "forever," Kardashian captioned the photos, which has over eight million likes.
Posted on April 6, Kardashian showed her 168 million Instagram followers a look into their special night, posting candid shots of the "newlyweds" with a heartfelt message.
"Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect."
The couple, who did not obtain a marriage license, was in town attending the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
During an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that aired in 2007 on E!, the family headed to a club in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a confessional, Khloé Kardashian admitted to seeing [Kourtney] and Disick heading out early.
While walking hand in hand with one another, Disick asked Kardashian the question. "Would you hate it if I asked you to marry me? Right now," he said.
"Are you serious?" a stunned Kardashian responded.
After speaking more about it in their hotel room, Kardashian agreed to marry Disick in Vegas.
The following morning, the couple revealed their plans to the rest of the family, who were shocked at their decision—especially "momager" Kris Jenner.
"We're in Vegas, dolls," Kourtney said.
When choosing which dress Kardashian wanted to wear, Jenner approached, saying that getting married in Vegas wasn't the right time.
"This feels wrong," Jenner admitted, adding that most of her other family members weren't there to witness the wedding.
"You're rushing it. Bruce (Caitlyn) isn't here," she said. "Your little sisters aren't here—they would die if they thought they weren't your bridesmaids."
After thinking about it, Kardashian believed that Jenner was right and they didn't follow through with the wedding. The couple never got married.
Fans in the comment section of Kardashian's viral photo with Barker remembered when the almost-wedding happened.
"someone needs to check up on Scott," one Instagram user said.
"yall remember the kuwtk ep when scott and kourt did this lol," recalled another, which received over 2,700 likes.
