Building support and relationships in Fire Emblem games is one of the most popular aspects of the series.

Whether you're building friendships or looking to earn enough support with a character to marry and have kids with, Support in Fire Emblem is important and that stays true with the latest game, Three Houses.

Three Houses retains many of the features of the Support system from past games, but this installment makes it a bit easier to build those relationships.

Here's everything you need to know about how and who you can build support with in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Support is the relationship between two units. There are various levels of Support that two units can have, from C to S.

This feature increases the power of units in battle. When two units with a Support level fight near each other, their attack and hit ratio will increase. The higher the level, the larger the increase.

Once a certain threshold is obtained, a cutscene between the two units will happen which will bring it to the next level.

Support in Fire Emblem: Three Houses can be built in two aspects of the game, in and out of battle.

Building Support in battle is the classic way the Fire Emblem franchise has done it. By attacking and defending while adjacent from each other, units will increase their support.

Once you have access to the Monastery as a professor you can perform various tasks with your students and other faculty to increase support.

The most common and frequent way to do this is by talking with your students. While exploring the monastery grounds, students from your House and others will have something to say to you. Some are just what they are doing or feeling, but sometimes they'll ask you a question or ask for advice. If you answer them in the way they want, you'll increase your support.

Another way to increase support is by gifting flowers on a student's birthday. This costs 200 gold and when a birthday comes up on the calendar, the game will ask if you want to gift flowers.

There are a lot of activities in the monastery that can increase support. Here are a few examples:

  • Sharing meals
  • Choir practice
  • Returning lost items
  • Gifting items
  • Giving advice from the advice box

The rank of your Support determines how strong your bond in battle is. However, if you reach an S-Rank you can romance another unit

Each unit can achieve an A-Rank Support level, but only a few units can go up to S. Here's every character and who they can S-Rank with, separated by Black Eagle, Blue Lion, Golden Deer and Faculty.
