George and Amal Clooney have welcomed twins Ella and Alexander, who arrived on Tuesday and are already on track for a shining future.

As well as having famous family friends, including former President Barack Obama, who visited the Clooneys during his trip to England in May, the twins' parents are a power couple with a combined estimated net worth of $260 million.

The fraternal twins are the first children for the couple, who married in September 2014 in a lavish ceremony at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort in Venice, Italy. With the human rights lawyer and actor having spent a reported $13 million on their wedding, it is likely the pair will shell out to treat their babies to the very best.

In a statement, the Clooneys' publicist said: "This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days."

Celebrities are known for spending big on their offspring. Fellow celebrity Jennifer Lopez is thought to spend up to $600,000 on a team to watch her children at night, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie forked out $1 million on private tutors for their brood pre-separation.

The Clooney twins are also likely to have some celebrity babies to befriend, including the triplets of Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh, who were born in January, and the daughter of Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, who was born in February. They will be able to seek out advice from the twins of George Clooney's best friend, Pitt. Knox and Vivienne Jolie Pitt are among the richest children in Hollywood, with an estimated future earning potential of $67.5 million, according to Quora.

"We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure," Clooney said recently of being a dad for the first time. "We've sort of embraced it all with arms wide open."
