German Shepherd Attacks Vacuum Cleaner to Save Owner in Hilarious Viral Video

German Shepherds are one of the most popular dog breeds in America.

Aside from being great with families, they are also favored by the military and make fantastic protective dogs.

The large animal, also known as an Alsatian, even reached national hero status when they were used to search for and rescue people in the ruins of the World Trade Center in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Therefore, when one German Shephard saw his owner appearing to be attacked by a vacuum cleaner, the pet of course decided to step in.

In footage shared to TikTok by an account called Novikovsv, which has already gone viral after being viewed a staggering 19.3 million times, a man holds up the head of the vacuum towards his head as it makes a loud suction noise.

He then feigns attack by shouting and pretending to wrestle with the device.

The animal, who is sat nearby, immediately springs into action and begins loudly barking before biting the head of the hoover out of the man's hand.

Only after the man stops shouting and pets the dog's head does it stop barking and relax.

Since the clip, which can be watched here, was shared on October 18 it has gained lots of traction online, having been liked by more than 2.2 million people and shared over 111,400 times.

Many people also rushed to the comments section to share their opinions on the hilarious footage and the dog's quick reactions.

One TikTok user, Bob The Drag Queen, wrote: "You just confirmed ALL of his fears."

Another person, Dead Darkness, typing from the perspective of the dog, added: "I KNEW IT WAS AN EVIL MONSTER!!!"

Barndon Smyth echoed this by writing: "I TRIED TO TELL YOU THE ENTIRE TIME BUT DID YOU LISTEN?!"

Cool Koala stated: "He stood up even though he was scared."

User3169943934234 observed: "Dog was scared for his life but was willing to fight for your life."

Coolgamerboy39 gushed: "That's why they call them a man's best friend."

Brandy Hagler commented: "Awww how cute your little on thought you were getting hurt."

Bisonalow revealed: "My dog would have run away while crapping all over my floor and let the devil machine consume me."

Fairfax joked: "Finally, confirmation that the vacuum is evil and has been all along."

Another video also recently went viral, showing a German Shepherd being pranked by a man dressed as a dinosaur.

Newsweek has contacted Novikovsv for comment.
