Giuliani Thinks Mueller's Team Is Trying 'Very, Very Hard' To Frame Donald Trump

Rudy Giuliani has said he believes Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team is “trying very, very hard” to frame President Donald Trump.

Speaking at a conference in Israel, Trump’s recently appointed lawyer commented that the president is innocent but suggested he was being victimized by the ongoing Russia investigation.

Giuliani told the Globes capital market conference in Tel Avi that Mueller’s team includes: “13 highly partisan Democrats ... (who) are trying very very hard to frame him to get him in trouble when he hasn’t done anything wrong,” the Associated Press reported.

The lawyer also once again suggested the president has the right to pardon himself, although he suggested this would not happen because Trump was is innocent and therefore has no need to do so.

His comments in Israel are the latest in a series of digs at the Russia probe and the special counsel, with Giuliani claiming in a series of interviews over the weekend that the president could pardon himself and that he could not be indicted even if he shot former FBI director James Comey.

“In no case can he be subpoenaed or indicted,” Giuliani said in an interview with the HuffPost on Sunday“I don’t know how you can indict while he’s in office. No matter what it is.”

“If he shot James Comey, he’d be impeached the next day. Impeach him and then you can do whatever you want to do to him,” he added.

The lawyer has also insisted this week that the president’s legal team did not lie about Donald Trump Jr’s statement on the now infamous Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer in June 2016, insisting the legal team simply made an error when they said President Trump had not dictated the statement.

“It was a mistake, I swear to God, it was a mistake,” Giuliani said in an interview with CNN on Monday night, after  The New York Times  reported a leaked 20-page letter to Mueller that explained Trump dictated the statement.

“The guy made a mistake,” Giuliani said. “He corrected it.”
