Most readers have a favorite publisher they trust to find accurate and timely news. Until recently, Google largely determined which newsrooms to surface for any given news event using complex algorithms; however, in August, that changed.

The search engine has recently launched a new feature called "preferred news sources," which allows readers to choose which publishers they would like to see more of in their search results. Essentially, this feature empowers readers to have more control over their search results algorithm and easily access news from their preferred publishers.

How to Set Newsweek as a Preferred Source

To set Newsweek.com as a preferred source, visit Google's Publisher Preference Center. Select the box for Newsweek and press "Take Me to Google Search."

Once you refresh your results and begin searching new topics, your preferred news publishers should appear more often. You'll still see other publishers appear, and you can adjust which publishers you see at any point.
