Iconic Florida House From Classic 90s Film 'My Girl' Is on Sale for $675K
If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, chances are you bawled your eyes out at the coming-of-age flick, My Girl.
Starring Macaulay Culkin as Thomas J. Sennett, and introducing Anna Chlumsky as Vada Sultenfuss, the film, released in 1991, was set in the summer of 1972. With an all-star cast including Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Aykroyd, the movie tugged on all our heartstrings as (spoiler alert) Culkin's character dies.
The plot follows 11-year-old Vada, whose dad owns a funeral parlor in the town of Madison, Pennsylvania. But in reality filming was in Florida, with the iconic property from the film located in the city of Sanford. And now, the sprawling house from childhood memories could be yours for $675,000.
The eight-bedroom home, located at 555 East Stanford Street, Bartow, has recently come on the market, and is described as "Hollywood history."

The 9,508 square foot house was built in 1906, and features the iconic "New-England style" wraparound porch which is the backdrop for numerous scenes in My Girl, including when Vada puts on make-up to try and flirt with Thomas.
The listing, from Blue Lighthouse Realty Inc., says: "Here's your chance to own a piece of Hollywood Movie history: The My Girl House (1991, Macaulay Culkin, Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis)."
The home has gone through numerous changes in its 115-year history, including functioning as a restaurant and a bed and breakfast. Along with eight bedrooms, it has eight-and-a-half bathrooms, a commercial kitchen, seven fireplaces, 15 foot high ceilings, two carriage houses and a 50 foot pool.
The listing continued: "All of this magical gloriousness sits on 3/4 acre, and takes up 2/3 of the block. This property is perfectly set up to be an AirBnB that could be rented out for events/weddings (like they used to previously). A world of opportunity (and equity) awaits the right buyer!"
The listing was spied by movie buffs, and shared across Instagram and TikTok on account Zillow Gone Wild, who shared snaps along with the caption: "The iconic home from the movie My Girl is for sale."
Fans reminisced about the heart-warming movie, with one Annjbagley commenting: "That movie makes me bawl every. single. time!!!"
Umokjennifer joked: "Thomas J roams those halls."
Referring to where they embalmed the bodies in the film, Simplyjpc asked: "But...what about the basement..."
While Melisss333 added: "I literally thought it looked familiar!"
The movie proved so popular a sequel, simply called My Girl 2, was released in 1994, seeing the original cast reprise their roles.
Newsweek reached out to Blue Lighthouse Realty Inc. and Zillow Gone Wild for comment.
