President Donald Trump has shared one of his favorite pastimes with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe—eating burgers.
The pair tucked into a cheeseburger on Trump's golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, Wednesday, and later enjoyed a working lunch together, with Abe joking at dinner time that he and the president had had "a cheeseburger on the golf course" so "already [had] two lunches" today, The Hill reported.
It is not the first time the leaders have enjoyed eating burgers together; pictures taken during Trump's visit to Japan last fall showing Abe and Trump chowing down what is widely reported to be one of the president's favorite foods.
Indeed, Michael Wolff's tell-all book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House includes a reference to the president spending his evenings eating a cheeseburger in bed, while his youngest daughter Tiffany told TMZ following the book's release that her father "loves McDonald's," a food he reportedly often enjoyed while on the campaign trail.
However, of late, the president has been eating fewer burgers and more fish in a bid to lose weight, Bloomberg reported in February—apparently making an exception during his time with Abe.
As well as eating, Trump and Abe enjoyed a round of golf, later being joined by their wives Melania Trump and Akie Abe, the Daily Mail reported.

Although the White House had said golf was not on the official schedule for the leaders, Trump told reporters in a briefing on Tuesday that the pair were "going to sneak out tomorrow morning and play a round of golf, if possible, if we have the time."
Wednesday marked the close of a two-day summit between Trump and Abe, with the president commenting during a "friendship walk" the couples took on Tuesday: "We are getting a lot of things done. A lot of great things between our two countries."
