Why It Matters
Interest in the case has stemmed from Stevenson's connection to the former first lady, to whom he was married from 1970 through 1975, when they divorced. She married then-Senator Joe Biden in 1977. Despite the nearly 50 years that have passed, Stevenson has openly criticized the Biden family and spoken of his ex-wife in recent interviews.
