Video: Jimmy Kimmel Says Everyone Knew Trump Didn't Collude With Russia—'If He Did, It Probably Would Have Been an Accident'

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has weighed in on the conclusion of the Mueller investigation, joking that Trump was never sharp enough to pull off collusion.

During a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, the comedian reflected on the end of the 22-month probe.

"It's kinda funny though, half of America is upset that our president didn't collude with Russia, seems like we should probably be happy about that," the host said.

"And deep down didn't we know Trump probably didn't collude with Russia, because he could never pull that off. And even if he did collude it probably would have been by accident. Putin wanted him there and did what he had to do. Basically, Trump got into the White House the same way that Lori Loughlin got her kid into USC [University of Southern California]."

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation ended last Friday and the full report was sent to Trump-appointed Attorney General William Barr. Two days later, a summary of the findings was sent to Congress. The probe found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia to influence the 2016 election. It did not reach a conclusion on obstruction of justice.

"While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him [on obstruction]," a comment from Mueller said in the summary.

The full report has not been released and Democrats are calling for it to be made public. In total, the Russia investigation brought indictments against 34 people and three companies. The special counsel found "two main Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election." Those included efforts to spread disinformation online and hack into computers from the Clinton campaign.

Referencing Trump's comments on Twitter this week, Kimmel said: "Make no mistake, this was a bigly victory for the president and there was much celebration in the Trump camp last night."

"I hear Kellyanne Conway drank the blood of an entire goat. The only way Trump could be happier with the Mueller report is if a porn star rolled it up and spanked him with it," he added.

Last Sunday, despite some of Mueller's words stating exactly the opposite, Trump tweeted defiantly on the report's summary conclusions. He wrote: "No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!"

Kimmel said: "Going from the summary the attorney general released there will be no new charges and now the process of tearing our country even further apart can finally begin." He then joked he had not "been as confused about an ending since the series finale of Lost."
