'F** Joe Biden' Chants Break Out Behind Fox Pundits Covering Astros v Red Sox
A Major League Baseball game between the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox has become the latest sporting event to hear a chant against President Joe Biden.
The Astros prevailed over the Red Sox by a score of 9-2 in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) on Tuesday night in Fenway Park in Boston leaving the teams tied at two games each in the best-of-seven series.
However as Fox Sports pundits were giving their analysis of the game, the post-match microphones picked up a series of chants that started with "Yankees suck" and ended with "F*** Joe Biden."
"Fox DOESN'T mute when Red Sox fans do a "F*** JOE BIDEN" tweeted Timothy Burke to his 97,000 followers.
Biden is actually very popular in the area. During the 2020 presidential election, he got 65 percent of the votes in Massachusetts and 80 percent of the votes in Suffolk County, where the state capital is located.
But the chant against the president continues to be heard in sporting and entertainment arenas around the country.
The Old Row Twitter account has been sharing footage of the chants in the last few weeks. Earlier this month, it posted one of it being heard during the New York Jets game against the Tennessee Titans.
They were also heard at college football games in September between the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the Citadel Bulldogs as well as a match between the Alabama State Hornets and the Auburn Tigers.
It has not just been a catchphrase at stadia. Fans were heard using the chant as they celebrated the U.S. team's victory over Europe in golf's Ryder Cup on September 25
Meanwhile, NBC sports reporter Kelli Stavast described the chant as the crowd voicing their approval for NASCAR driver Brandon Brown this month when she interviewed him after a race at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
Stavast said: "As you can hear the chants from the crowd—'Let's go Brandon,'" while pausing to let the "f**k Joe Biden" chant play out in an incident that was widely shared and commented upon.
Donald Trump Jr told right-wing news outlet The Daily Caller last month that the chants demonstrated "the media can't run cover for him anymore."
Recent polling has shown waning support for Biden while a survey released Wednesday showed that he was neck in neck with his predecessor, Donald Trump
The Grinnell College National Poll found that if the election were held today, 40 percent would back Biden, 40 percent would vote for Trump.
