Vice President Kamala Harris condemned recent protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as anti-Israel voters have continued to voice their criticism.

"Yesterday, at Union Station in Washington, D.C. we saw despicable acts by unpatriotic protesters and dangerous hate-fueled rhetoric," Harris wrote in a statement on X, formerly Twitter.

"I condemn any individuals associating with the brutal terrorist organization Hamas, which has vowed to annihilate the State of Israel and kill Jews. Pro-Hamas graffiti and rhetoric is abhorrent and we must not tolerate it in our nation. I condemn the burning of the American flag. That flag is a symbol of our highest ideals as a nation and represents the promise of American It should never be desecrated in that way," the statement said.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu traveled to Washington, D.C., to deliver a joint address to Congress amid Israel's ongoing war with Hamas militants in Gaza. Netanyahu's visit to Washington on Wednesday provoked a series of demonstrations from protesters opposed to Israel's ongoing military action in Gaza. Earlier in the day, maggots were dumped on a banquet table at Netanyahu's hotel, while fountains around the capital city were dyed blood red.

"Anti-Israel protestors burned an effigy with an American flag wrapped around it outside of Union Station," Gary M. Collins, a journalist for the conservative Sinclair Broadcast Group, wrote while sharing a video on X, formerly Twitter.

Amid the ongoing war, some Democrats have shown support for the Palestinian people, with some lawmakers refusing to attend Netanyahu's address.

In a series of posts on X, the pro-Palestinian Uncommitted National Movement shared several videos showing how some Democratic lawmakers and voters feel about the ongoing war in Gaza.

In one video, Maurice Moe Mitchell, the national director of the Working Families Party, a grassroots progressive organization, spoke about the war saying, "Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has the audacity to address Congress while his army carries out a brutal operation of collective punishment and genocide."

"Our position on this has been clear since last October, the Biden administration must do everything it can, must use every tool in its toolbox to bring an immediate end to this carnage," Mitchell said in the video.

Democratic Representative Cori Bush also shared her thoughts in another video saying, "It's absolutely shameful that after the murder of over 39,000 Palestinians...that my colleagues in Congress choose to celebrate Prime Minister Netanyahu, a whole war criminal."
