Little Boy Asks Friend to Marry Him in Adorable Video—Her Reaction Is Priceless

Being rejected by the object of our desires is a rite of passage that many of us go through, and handling this is how we learn and grow.

However, for one five-year-old in a viral TikTok video this lesson came a little early in life, when he popped the question to his young female friend.

The footage, shared to the app by user Leah Sherriff, known online as leahsherriff, is captured on a Nest doorbell camera.

The video begins with a young boy, identified only as Woods, getting down on one knee on the front porch and saying to his friend: "Will you marry me?"

The girl, who is wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt and has her back to the camera, immediately replies: "No."

Woods then says to her: "Jheez you're mean," and throws something onto the floor, which according to the overlaid text is a handmade heart.

The boy then storms off, as the little girl calls after him: "Woods! Woods.... sorry!"

Sherriff captioned the hilarious clip, writing: "Young love #fypシ #marriageproposal #kidstiktok #hewasdevastated #forafiveyearold #quicklyrecovered #bestfriends #americasfunnestvideos."

The video, which was posted on June 20, has so far been viewed more than 26.1 million times and surpassed 6.1 million likes.

Many people flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts on the adorable footage.

One TikTok user, Soph Moore, wrote: "We just witnessed a turning point in that young man's life...."

Another person, priyansh, added: "This man boutta be someone great after facing rejection so early in life."

Kens stated: "She straight up said no without any hesitation," alongside some laughing-face emojis.

Caitie commented: "Me yelling 'Girl, first lesson in not feeling bad for telling a male no let him leave.'"

Youlee joked: "Legend says Woods never got married. He's still waiting for her."

Not.that.okie_ typed: 20 years later they get together, and reenact this, but this time she says YES! That would be awesome lol."

In other news of marriage proposals not going to plan, a video recently went viral on TikTok showing a man falling from a gondola in Las Vegas just after he popped the question.

In footage shared to the app by creator Pmarie22, a man stands up to put the ring onto his now-fiancé's finger and loses his balance and topples into the water at The Venetian Las Vegas resort in Nevada.

The hilarious clip is captioned: "PROPOSAL GONE(Dola) WRONG #lasvegas #venetian #proposal #ohno #foryoupage #foryou."
