Marjorie Taylor Greene Renews Calls to Impeach President Joe Biden
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has once again renewed her calls to impeach President Joe Biden, this time via social media app Telegram.
The controversial Georgia Republican lawmaker shared the post under a picture of her and former deputy assistant to Donald Trump, Sebastian Gorka.
Both Trump loyalists held an "Impeach Biden" sign and were seen standing in front of a Ronald Reagan photo and a map of the 2016 Presidential Election results.
Her statement, posted today on Telegram, read: "It's time to impeach Biden! Sign the official impeach Biden petition today and become a citizen co-sponsor."
Greene then shared a link to the petition, which urged people to sign the petition against Biden.
The post has gone on to be viewed more than 6,415 times since it was uploaded, although it is unclear how many of those people signed the petition.
It reads: "I filed articles of impeachment on Joe Biden! 75 million Americans are fed up with inaction. It's time to take a stand. Quid pro-Joe (a play on the Latin 'quid pro quo' meaning a favor given in return for something) Biden abused his power as Vice President.
"Americans will not tolerate this. Become a citizen co-sponsor by signing your petition above!"
This is Greene's latest push to call for Biden's impeachment, claiming he had a "pattern of abuse of power as President [Barack] Obama's Vice President."
She also went on to list a number of details and reasons for why she filed the articles of impeachment back in January.
Among the impeachment articles are for President Biden's "corrupt actions involving his quid pro quo in Ukraine and his abuse of power by allowing his son, Hunter Biden, to siphon off cash from America's greatest enemies Russia and China."
Her announcement, which was shared on social media platform Twitter, came on the second day of the Biden presidency.
So far, the Georgia lawmaker's stunt has not progressed in the Democrat-controlled House and Senate.
It is one of several incidents that have colored the controversial representative, who previously espoused views that appeared supportive of the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory.
She came under fire from Jewish groups that slammed the representative's comments comparing COVID measures to Nazi Germany.
Sharing a video of Biden explaining his position on tackling COVID and Greene said: "Biden pushing a vaccine that is NOT FDA approved shows covid is a political tool used to control people."
"People have a choice, they don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations. You can't force people to be part of the human experiment,"
The Brown Shirts refers to the SA, a Nazi paramilitary group that took part in pogroms against Jews.
Newsweek has contacted Greene for comment.
