The two Los Angeles rivals collide this weekend, as Los Angeles FC hosts the Galaxy in the late kickoff on Sunday night.

El Trafico's first four installments last season saw the Galaxy stay unbeaten, courtesy of two wins and two draws, but that run could come to an end on Sunday.

Top of the table in the Western Conference by 19 points, such has been LAFC's dominance so far this season that it could secure both the conference title and the Supporters' Shield before Labor Day.

Carlos Vela took his personal tally to 26 goals for the season on Wednesday night, scoring a brace in the 4-0 trouncing of San Jose Earthquakes, which included a stunning solo goal.

The Mexican leads the race for the Golden Boot and has been instrumental in his side's run of form this season.

The Galaxy has a talismanic striker of its own and one who revels in his role of party spoiler.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 20 goals this season, including braces in the Galaxy's last two games, and decided El Trafico in July.

The Swede engaged in a war of words with Vela, suggesting he was the best player in the MLS before netting a hat-trick to give the Galaxy a 3-2 win.

The second Los Angeles derby of the season could be just as exciting.

When and where is the game?

LAFC hosts the Galaxy at Banc of California Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time (10:30 p.m.) ET on Sunday, August 25.

TV coverage

The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 with English commentary, and on FOX Deportes with Spanish commentary.

According to Oddschecker, LAFC is a 12/25 favorite (-208 in moneyline terms), while the draw is at 19/5 and the Galaxy is a 19/4 outsider.

Recent form

The 4-0 rout of the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night made it five wins in a row for LAFC, while the Galaxy is unbeaten in the last two MLS games after beating FC Dallas 2-0 and drawing 2-2 against the Seattle Sounders on Saturday.

LAFC has already secured a playoff berth and leads the Western Conference with a 19-point gap over second placed Minnesota United, while its Los Angeles rivals are a point further back.

Team news

The Galaxy is without long-term absentee Romain Alessandrini, who underwent surgery after suffering a knee injury in April, while defender Daniel Steres is suspended.

Series record

The Galaxy are yet to lose to their local rivals, winning twice and drawing twice of their four meetings against LAFC. The most recent victory came last month, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted a hat-trick in a 3-2 win.
