Since MTV announced the return of Jersey Shore, there's only been one question on everyone's mind: Where is Sammi?

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premieres on the network April 5, and all of the original cast members are set to make their return—except Samantha "Sammi" Giancola, aka Sweetheart. It's unclear why Giancola didn't want to travel to Miami and film the vacation spinoff with her former castmates Deena Cortese, Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Jennifer "JWoww" Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

But while appearing on People Now on Wednesday, some of Giancola's old pals said it is likely she may be convinced to join them for Season 2 of the MTV reality series, should they get another season. "It's always a chance, yeah," Guadagnino said.

DelVecchio said after all the media attention she's received despite her absence, Giancola "must want to" join them for another season. "I can almost bet on that. For somebody to say no to that at that time—all the media and everybody, all those comments, she must see them. She must want to do it," he added. "She must want to do the second one."

Giancola famously dated Ortiz-Magro, who is now expecting his first child with girlfriend Jen Harley. The couple had a rather tumultuous relationship and was known for their constant breakups and makeups when the show ran on MTV from 2009 to 2012.

Some fans believe Giancola didn't sign on to do the reunion because of all the drama that transpired between her and Ortiz-Magro in past seasons of the show. And back in December, Polizzi shared that sentiment. On an episode of her podcast, It's Happening With Snooki & Joey, she said that Giancola is "in such a happy place that I feel like she doesn't want to jump back into that drama if it doesn't happen."

But some of her former castmates thought her absence was a missed opportunity to clear the air and reconnect with all her old friends.

"I look at it like this: If she was never brought up again in the world or a part of Jersey Shore, fine, move on with your life and enjoy whatever life changes you have that don't make you wanna come back," Farley said. "But for the simple fact that she will always be a part of us, and she'll always be mentioned or brought up, at least capitalize on it. Speak your own truth, come in, fight us, whatever. Or love us, be around us. It's just kind of bullshit she's not taking the opportunity."

DelVecchio added, "Just tell your own story or tell the world your new story, your new life, what it's like."
