'New Pokémon Snap': Here's a List of Every Pokémon Confirmed for the Game So Far

New Pokémon Snap is one of the most anticipated titles coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021.

The next game in the Pokémon Snap series will bring players to the Lental region, where they'll be able to observe and take photos of various Pokémon in their natural habitats. Like the original Pokémon Snap title for the Nintendo 64, players will ride around in a self-driving vehicle that will allow them to take as many photos as possible, and they'll be able to interact with Pokémon using items.

The original 1999 game only featured 63 Pokémon that could be photographed. The low number makes sense considering the fact that there were only 151 known Pokémon at the time of the game's release, but since then, the franchise has added more than 700 new species of Pokémon over eight generations.

New Pokémon Snap will surely have more than the original's 63, but just how many will appear? Judging from the screenshots of the official New Pokémon Snap site and trailers that have been released by the time of this article's writing, there are only 51 Pokémon that are confirmed to be in the game. But there just has to be more than that.

It should be noted, though, that just because a Pokémon that can evolve—like, say, Squirtle—is confirmed to be in the new game, that doesn't mean its evolutions will also be featured. In the original Pokémon Snap, some Pokémon would appear, but not their evolutions.

For instance, Pikachu appears multiple times in the N64 title, but its evolution Raichu does not. Other Pokémon like Gyarados only appeared after interacting with its pre-evolution. In the case of Gyarados, hitting a Magikarp into the lake would cause it to evolve into the Water and Flying-type.

Other Pokémon will appear if you interact with the environment—such as the Chansey and Scyther in the first level of Pokémon Snap, which appeared only if you threw an item into the wild.

Here's a running list of every Pokémon found in New Pokémon Snap so far, separated by the generation they first appeared in, from Kanto to Galar:
