NXT Live Results: USA Premiere May Lead to Undisputed Era "Draped in Gold"

It's the first episode of NXT on the USA network and the black and gold brand may become undisputed by the end of the night.

The two-hour premiere will be split between USA and the WWE Network, but both halves will have Takeover-level matches, including two title matches that may leave the Undisputed Era draped in gold.

The first title match will feature Velveteen Dream, the NXT North American Champion, taking on Roderick Strong. Dream escaped with his title recently during the triple threat bout at Takeover: Toronto against Strong and Peter Dunne. Strong wants a one-on-one match with Dream, and he's finally getting one. Will this be Strong's first solo title at NXT, or will Adam Cole's prophecy of the UE having all the titles falter again?

A Fatal Fourway match to determine the number one contender for Shayna Baszler's NXT Women's Championship will take place between Mia Yim, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair and Candice LeRae. Who will come out on top in a match that can steal the entire show, and will the winner be the one to finally take down Baszler?

Finally, Matt Riddle and Killian Daine will continue their feud in a Street Fight on tonight's NXT. Riddle's rise in NXT was stopped by a returning Daine and the two have been at odds ever since. Who will be the victor, and what will it mean for their standing in the promotion?

NXT RESULTS

Io Shirai vs Bianca Belair vs Candice LeRae vs Mia Yim

• Candice LeRae pins Mia Yim after a Lionsault
• This is LeRae's first championship opportunity.
• Finish was set up when Io Shirai went for the Moonsault on Candice, but Yim dumped Io on Bianca Belair on the outside. This gives Candice a chance to knock Mia Yim off and hit her with the Poison-rana into the Lionsault.
• When Candice is on the top of the ramp, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir come out. They surround LeRae and Baszler puts the NXT Women's Championship in Candice's face.

Dijakovic and Keith Lee Package

• A hype package announcing a rematch between these two will be on next week's episode (September 25).

Sean Maluta vs Cameron Grimes

• Grimes wins via pinfall after the standing Double Stomp in about five seconds.

Velveteen Dream (c) vs Roderick Strong - NXT North American Championship Match

• Toward the end of the match, the rest of the Undisputed Era come out and stay on the outside of the ring trying to motivate Strong.
• Strong throws Dream who hits the referee unintentionally. The UE get on the apron, but Dream knocks them down but eats an End of Heartache but Dream kicks out.
• Fish then distracts the referee, which allows for Adam Cole to hit Dream with the Superkick. This allows Strong to hit a second End of Heartache.
• Roderick Strong wins via pinfall.

Match Announcement

• It's announced that Candice LeRae will take on Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women's Championship in two weeks (October 2).

Pete Dunne vs Arturo Ruas

• Dunne wins via submission after a Finger Snapper
• The match was very competitive.

Match Announcement

• Lio Rush and Oney Lorcan will square off to be the new number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship

Xia Li vs Aaliyah

• Xia Li wins

Imperium Segment

• Denzel comes out for a match, but he's jumped by the three members of Imperium. Walter then comes out and says that those who disrespect tradition will answer to Imperium.
• He's interrupted by Kushida who says that it's his time now. Kushida takes out Imperium, but Walter grabs Kushida. Kushida escapes Walter's grasp and is challenging the NXT UK Champion.

Oney Lorcan vs Lio Rush

• Match is for number one contendership of the Cruiserweight Championship
• Story of the match was Rush tweaking his knee and Lorcan targeting it.
• Rush wins via pinfall after a Frog Splash.

Matt Riddle vs Killian Daine - Street Fight

• The fight goes to the back where The Forgotten Sons are.
• The two get to the parking lot where Walter is. Walter starts to choke out Riddle when Imperium starts to brawl. This brings out the Street Profits and The Forgotten Son. Pete Dunne and other NXT superstars start to brawl.
• The brawling comes to the ring and the match ends in a no contest but Killian Daine ends the night by doing a suicide dive to the outside onto a group of wrestlers.
