Paul Rudd's Best Moments on 'Friends' As Actor Absent From Reunion

The Friends Reunion was filled with memories, laughs and nostalgia as the cast reunited to relive the sitcom that dominated pop culture for a decade.

Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) reunited on the show's famous set for the one-off special and arguably one of the biggest television events of the year.

The gang welcomed a host of A-list celebrities, including David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and BTS.

However, some notable minor characters were missing—most prominently, Paul Rudd, who played Pheobe's husband Mike Hannigan in the later series of the show.

His absence has certainly not gone unnoticed, with viewers questioning the Ant-Man's absence on social media.

The special's director, Ben Winston explained that the COVID-19 restriction meant they couldn't get everybody back for the reunion.

"Well, we couldn't have everybody on, because it's only an hour and 45 minutes. And you've got to pay attention—the main nub of the show has got to be about the six cast members," he told The Wrap.

"So you can't have too many cameos because of course, there were hundreds of amazing people who were in Friends over the years. Sadly, we couldn't get everybody in."

In honour of the much-missed Rudd and his character Mike, here are some of his best moments on Friends.

Mike and Phoebe's first kiss

Mike and Phoebe first meet after being set up on a blind date by Joey. When Mike tells Phoebe he thinks he can make her happy, she freaks out because she's never been in a relationship before. She says he can just leave and closes her eyes. Instead, Mike kisses her.

Air piano

When trying to convince Phoebe he can play piano, Mike, without a piano to hand improvises by simply, air pianoing.

Crap bag

After Phoebe legally changes her name to Princess Consuela Bananahammock, Mike threatens to change his name too. First name, Crap, last name, Bag.

One of the proposals

Mike interrupts David's (Hank Azaria) proposal to propose to Phoebe himself, and despite not having a ring and saying "no" initially, she chooses him.

Another proposal

Mike had to propose to Phoebe three times before she said yes. The last time he originally hid the ring in a cake, much to his future wife's disdain.

When Joey gave him "the talk"

Phoebe's dad wasn't around to give the groom "the talk" before the wedding, so Joey stepped in.

Mike and Phoebe's wedding

The couple ended up getting married outside in the depths of winter in a wedding as unconventional as them.
