'Pokémon Go' Battle League Season 3 Announced: Rewards, Move Changes and More

Niantic announced the third season of the Pokémon Go Battle League on Wednesday, giving trainers the 4-1-1 on what to expect in the popular mobile game's PVP feature.

According to the official Niantic blog, the Pokémon Go team have learned a lot about how trainers battle from Season 2 of the Battle League. They confirmed that there will be plenty of things that stay the same from Season 2.

There won't be a walking requirement in order to battle in the Go Battle League, as the world continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Friendships level requirement for battling remotely will remain at "Good Friends" throughout season three.

The Pikachu Libre avatar item will continue to be the rank 7 reward. Battles, wins and ratings required to reach ranks will remain the same from the previous season.

But you're here to learn about the changes, and when the third season of the Pokémon Go Battle League begins. Continue reading below for the schedule, the rewards breakdown and all the changes to Pokémon Go battling.
