'Pokémon Go' Players Vote Porygon and Charmander For Next Community Days
After a grueling 24-hour voting period, the next two Pokémon Go Community Day events have been decided with Porygon and Charmander receiving the most votes from players.
Over the weekend, the official Pokémon Go Twitter account posted a poll between the four previously-announced nominees for the September and October Community Day events--Porygon, Charmander, Caterpie and Grimer--with the top two choices
After more than 840 thousand votes, Porygon won first place with an impressive 55.3 percent. Charmander, who received a Community Day in the past, won second place with 36.6 percent of the vote.
Rounding out the bottom two were Caterpie with 4.1 percent and Grimer bringing up the rear with 3.9 percent.

So now that the Pokémon have been decided, what's next? Well, the September Community Day featuring Porygon will go down on Sunday, September 20. This will give players the best chance to catch a ton of Porygon, which is a relatively rare spawn in Pokémon Go, and its Shiny form.
Shiny Porygon will make its Pokémon Go debut in September, and the Community Day event will be the best chance to find and catch this rare variant.
It takes 22 Porygon Candy and one Upgrade item to evolve Porygon into Porygon 2. Upgrades can be found randomly by spinning PokeStops in your area.
Since Upgrades are random, players will want to get a headstart and start spinning as many PokeStops as they can to ensure they have plenty of them before September 20.
To evolve Porygon 2 into Porygon-Z, trainers will need a Sinnoh Stone to evolve the Normal-type Pokémon.
Sinnoh Stones in Pokémon Go are only obtained via Research Breakthrough when you fill up the Research Task log with seven stamps.
The other way is to win one randomly in Trainer Battles. After each PVP fight in Pokémon Go, both trainers receive a handful of items with the Sinnoh Stone possibly being one of them.
Porygon 2 who evolve into Porygon-Z during the September Community Day will learn the exclusive move, Tri Attack. This attack has a chance to decrease the opposing Pokémon's Attack and Defense stat.
As for Charmander, its Community Day event will begin October 17. Charmander's Shiny form is already in Pokémon Go, but this event will give players the best chance to find one to add to their collection.
While Charmander's final form Charizard learned Blast Burn during its first Community Day, Charmeleon that evolve into the Fire and Flying-type Pokémon will learn the exclusive attack, Dragon Breath.
This is perfect for when Mega Evolution arrives in Pokémon Go and Charizard X can take advantage of the Dragon-type attack.
