Pokémon Go's Enigma Week begins Friday, August 7 at 4 p.m. EDT and ends Friday, August 14 at 4 p.m. EDT.

The official Niantic blog doesn't mention timed research tasks for Enigma Week, but it's likely with these types of events that there will be some sort of missions that need completing. Whether they are timed research or field research tasks found by spinning PokeStops, there is likely to be something for trainers to do to get extra encounters with some of the spotlighted Pokémon.

Now that the Enigma Week event has gone live, check out the research tasks below:

  • Catch 3 Psychic-type Pokémon - Rare Candy (x1)
  • Make 3 Curveball Throws - Baltoy
  • Win a Raid - Staryu

Elgyem and its evolution Beheeyem will make their Pokémon Go debuts during Enigma week. These alien-like Psychic-type Pokémon will appear in the wild, in 7km Eggs and in Raids.

Staryu, the Water-type Pokémon will have its Shiny form debut in the mobile game this Friday. To increase your chances of finding one, Staryu will appear more frequently in the wild.

Shiny Staryu changes its colors from its usual light brown to white so it will be easy to spot if you encounter it.

Enigma Week in Pokémon Go will see the following Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild: Staryu, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Lunatone, Solrock, Baltoy, Bronzor and Elgyem. All of these Pokémon are space-themed and will give trainers

Trainers looking to hatch these Pokémon will find the following in 7km Eggs: Cleffa, Igglybuff, Lunatone, Solrock and Elgyem. Raids will see Bronzong, Claydol, Elgyem and the Unown letters U, L, T, R, and A.

Niantic confirmed that these Unown will also have a chance to be shiny so be sure to find as many as you can if you want to catch these rare Pokémon.

The Legendary Pokémon Deoxys will also make its return to Pokémon Go via Raids during the event. Its Shiny form will finally debut on Friday, so pick up some Remote Raids to test your luck against this powerful Pokémon.
