'Pokémon Go' Raid Update: Arrival of Armored Mewtwo Changes Bosses

Pokémon Go's Raids have changed after the arrival of Armored Mewtwo, and if trainers are having a hard time gathering a team of six Pokémon to take on the powerful Legendary the new Raid Bosses may help.

Armored Mewtwo shows up in Level 5 Raids from July 10-31 so there's still plenty of time to battle, and catch, as many as possible. It also gives trainers time to catch this new batch of Raid Bosses, many of whom can help take down this powerful Legendary.

Armored Mewtwo is only weak to Bug, Ghost and Dark-type attacks, and these new Raid Bosses are filled with Pokémon that have plenty of those moves.

There are three Pokémon appearing in Raids that we recommended trainers use on their team in our Armored Mewtwo counter guide. Gengar, Tyranitar and Weavile are all powerful Pokémon on their own, but using their Dark and Ghost-type attacks really help against Armored Mewtwo.

Of course, Weavile isn't catchable in the Raids but its pre-evolution Sneasel is. You may need to catch a few Sneasel to get the candy needed to evolve it.

Scyther's evolution Scizor could be very helpful against Armored Mewtwo as its Steel typing makes it resistant to Psychic-type attacks so it's a good alternative to the other Pokémon mentioned.

Alolan Exeggutor, while not possessing any super effect attacks, is bulky enough to absorb many of Armored Mewtwo's attacks.
