Pokémon Go is adding a slew of new 'Mon to catch, hatch from Eggs and battle in Raid Battles.

These Pokémon can be caught in the wild of Pokémon Go:

  • Snivy
  • Tepig
  • Oshawott
  • Pidove
  • Patrat
  • Lillipup
  • Purrloin
  • Blitzle

Niantic revealed in the official press release that more Unova region Pokémon can be found in the wild but the above list are confirmed.

Pokémon Go players will also see the variety of new Pokémon that can be hatched from Eggs. Here are the confirmed Unova region Pokémon that can be hatched:

  • 2km - Patrat, Purrloin, Lillipup, Pidove
  • 5km - Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Blitzle, Drilbur, Foongus
  • 10km - Ferroseed, Klink, Litwick, Golett, Deino

Klink, the pure Steel-type Pokémon, can be found in Raid Battles. Niantic made note that this Pokémon can only be found in Raids and not in the wild or Eggs.

With every region introduced in Pokémon Go, there are Pokémon that can only be found in certain parts of the world.

For Gen 5 here are the Pokémon that are region-exclusive and where to find them:

  • Pansage: Asia-Pacific
  • Pansear: Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India
  • Panpour: The Americas and Greenland
  • Heatmor: Western hemisphere
  • Durant: Eastern hemisphere

There are only two new Shiny Pokémon that will be added to Pokémon Go with the Gen 5 update.

Lillipup and Patrat will have their Shiny forms added to the mobile game. Shiny Lillipup will see its coloring become a light brighter, while Shiny Patrat will become darker with its red eyes turning blue.

Similar to the Sinnoh Stone, the Unova Stone in Pokémon Go will evolve certain Pokémon from the Gen 5 games.

While the Sinnoh Stone can be obtained via Trainer Battles, the Unova Stone will be obtained randomly through the Research Breakthrough. To achieve a Research Breakthrough trainers will need to complete a research task for seven days.

These are the Pokémon that need a Unova Stone to evolve:

  • Pansage
  • Pansear
  • Panpour
  • Lampent
  • Munna
  • Minccino
  • Eelektrik
