PS5 Restock Update for Target, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, PS Direct and More

The PS5 is currently sold out at every major U.S retailer, although a couple of outlets might be restocking Thursday.

Below is a breakdown of the latest PS5 restock information.

Target PS5 Restock

Over the past few days, there have been whispers of an overdue Target restock taking place this week and we now have a better idea of when this might happen.

A number of reputable console trackers, including Matt Swider and Jake Randall, have both cited insider sources who claim that Target will be selling the PS5 either today or Thursday, July 8. Given that the outlet usually restocks in the very early hours of the morning (most recently on Wednesday, June 16, at 7:30 a.m. ET), it is now more likely to be Thursday.

If the Target restock is not this week, then it will instead occur on either July 14 or July 15. Regardless of which day it falls on, it is almost certainly going to be in the early hours of the morning, as it has been every other time.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

When it comes to PS5 restocks, Best Buy has been one of the more prolific merchants lately, having sold the console on Thursday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 30.

While this might lead you to assume that their inventory is now fully depleted, some industry trackers are suggesting that Best Buy could actually be restocking for a third consecutive week.

If this does happen, it will likely be on Thursday, as that is when the outlet tends to release new stock.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart released new PS5 units on Thursday, July 1, but the item was sold out within seconds of it becoming available.

As we mentioned in our last update, you can technically still find PlayStation 5s on the Walmart website, but these have been put up by independent resellers who will charge you a massively inflated price.

For example, there is a console on the page that is currently selling for $1,008.98 and that is without any accessories or games included. This is over double the recommended manufacture price of $499, so you are better off waiting for either Target or Best Buy to release new units.

Antonline PS5 Restock

Antonline was selling PS5s yesterday (Tuesday, July 6) at 10 a.m. ET.

The bundle, which has now completely sold out, would have set you back almost $800. This is because it not only shipped with an extra controller, but also four games. Included in the package were Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, MLB The Show 21 and The Last of Us Part II.

All PS5 bundles at Antonline are now unavailable.

Newegg PS5 Restock

The only way to get a PS5 from Newegg is to enter what the merchant calls a "Shuffle." These are basically lottery draws that Newegg uses to offload its more in-demand electronics. If you enter one, then you will have a chance at placing an order but this is far from guaranteed.

It can be hard to anticipate when Newegg shuffles are going to occur (as they rarely make formal announcements) but console trackers like @Wario64 and @GYXdeals are good at broadcasting timely updates.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

A couple of weeks ago, PS Direct gave a handful of customers the opportunity to buy a PlayStation 5 from their online store. The option to purchase was only applicable to those who had received email invitations, so most people did not even get a chance to join the virtual queue.

Since then, Sony's official storefront has not restocked on additional PS5 units.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Since their Prime Day sale, Amazon has not restocked on PS5 units.

Occasionally, you might see the console listed for an inflated price. As with Walmart, this is because Amazon allows independent users to trade on their website, giving PS5 resellers a platform.

To be alerted when Amazon itself has restocked on next-generation consoles, follow reliable accounts like @Wario64 and @GYXdeals on Twitter.

GameStop PS5 Restock

Having recently sold out of PS5s, GameStop will not be restocking until next week at the very earliest.

The retailer had supplies on Thursday, July 1, and (seeing as they normally restock on a fortnightly basis) they will likely have them again sometime around Thursday, July 15.

Costco PS5 Restock

At the time of writing, you cannot purchase either the digital or disc edition of the PS5 from Costco and there is no indication of when this might change.

To be alerted when Costco does get more stock, it is worth following the likes of @Wario64 and @GYXdeals on Twitter.
