Will Samantha Bee Get Fired for Ivanka Trump Insult? That's What Some Conservatives Want

It's not unlikely for conservatives to take offense to Samantha Bee's musings on her late night TBS show. The alt-right, Republicans and the presidential family are often at the expense of Bee's racy humor on Full Frontal. She's often reprimanded by conservatives on social media for it, but her comments toward first daughter Ivanka Trump during Wednesday night's episode had some members of the right calling for Bee's job.

After referring to the president's daughter a "feckless c**t" during a passionate rant about the mistreatment of immigrants by U.S. government on Wednesday night's airing of Full Frontal, thousands of people took to social media to condemn the 48-year-old. A number of them suggested for Bee to get the same type of treatment Roseanne Barr recently received after she compared Barack Obama's former aide Valerie Jarrett to an ape. Barr's comment on Twitter on Tuesday essentially resulted in ABC canceling the heavily viewed sitcom, Roseanne.

Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c*nt” and some are defending this? You’re the problem with Hollywood. What happened to civility? She needs to be fired.

I agree. Disgusting low-life Samantha Bee should be fired immediately. https://t.co/7FhjjqllzA

Even the White House came down on Bee. During a press briefing on Thursday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders called the Canadian-American comic's joke "vile and vicious."

"The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling. Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executives at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network," Sanders said.

Although conservatives are hoping that Time Warner and TBS's actions result in the canceling of Bee's Emmy nominated series, the odds of that happening seem unlikely. In a statement to Newsweek on Thursday, TBS said: "Samantha Bee has taken the right action in apologizing for the vile and inappropriate language she used about Ivanka Trump last night. Those words should not have been aired. It was our mistake too, and we regret it."

Bee extended Trump an apology for her "inappropriate and inexcusable" joke on Twitter on Thursday.

I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.
