SEAL Team Season 4's two-part premiere saw a major shake-up in the central team as Jason (played by David Boreanaz) announced he was vacating his post at Bravo One in order to, in his words, "find a life for Jason Hayes." This shock decision, coming after Mandy's (Jessica Paré) exit from the CBS show, has left some fans wondering whether the Angel and Bones actor was about to exit his latest TV show.
Is David Boreanaz leaving SEAL Team?
Luckily for fans, it seems as if Boreanaz is going nowhere, as in interviews the character has revealed there is a lot still to explore with the character on the show.

In fact, in an Entertainment Tonight interview, the actor hinted the character may be back in his SEAL Team post soon. He said: "I don't know if it'll stick...Was it hastily [made]? Was it done correctly? We'll find that out.
"How does he deal with it? How does he manage not being all in all the time with the team, but also all in all the time with a wife? He doesn't know what that looks like. I think it's scary, and it's going to be terrifying. I don't know if he makes it."

...
In a TVLine interview, meanwhile, SEAL Team executive producer Spencer Hudnut revealed exactly why Boreanaz will not be leaving: "At the beginning of Season 3, he re-enlisted for a couple more years, so you can't just walk away. He is still a part of the Navy, so he needs to find a new way to 'burn off' his enlistment. And the struggle for him will be: Does that bring him any sense of satisfaction the way operating does?"
Fans who were hoping that Season 4 would see Jason embark on a romance with Mandy (Jessica Paré) will also be disappointed by the latter's exit from the show. Though the character will be back later in the season, Paré is not returning as a series regular for this season.
"Look, we are all sad to see Mandy go," Hudnut told TVLine, "[but] we really do strive to honor the experiences of our service members. And by dramatizing the combat, the trauma, all the emotional stress, there need to be consequences."
Though she will not be around in the same way she was, she will still have some part to play in Jason's life in the coming episodes. As Hudnut teased, "that connection [between Jason and Mandy] influences what Jason decides later in the episode."
SEAL Team Season 4 continues Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT on CBS.
