Who Is 'Selling Tampa's' Sharelle Rosado? 5 Facts About The Netflix Star
Selling Tampa made its debut on Netflix on Wednesday, December 15 and introduced a host of new real estate agents to the world of reality TV.
The new show focuses on the agents of Allure Realty, a company that was founded by Sharelle Rosado in 2019.
Rosado launched the real estate agency to help support women from minority backgrounds. Here is everything you need to know about the CEO.
1. Sharelle Rosado is a U.S. Army Veteran
Rosado served in the United States' army for 13 years and she worked as a paratrooper while she was in active duty.
Glamour Magazine, who interviewed the CEO, claimed that while she was in service Rosado was deployed to Afghanistan twice.
While speaking to the publication, Rosado said: "Having felt accomplished in serving my country for 13 years, I medically retired from the army in 2019, resolving to put my family first.
"While purchasing my own home in Tampa, I enjoyed viewing and learning about real estate properties so much that I began to consider it as a career."
Shortly after retiring from the U.S. Army, Rosado established Allure Realty.
2. She is engaged to an NFL star
Rosado is engaged to Chad Johnson, a former NFL player who was known during his sportsman days as Chad Ochocinco.
He was a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2001 to 2010, and he also played for the New England Patriots in 2011. Johnson also played for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
The couple are currently expecting their first child together, Rosado's fourth and Johnson's eighth.
In August Rosado told People of her pregnancy: "It was shocking. I think I was crying and laughing at the same time. I just can't wait.
"It's actually going by so fast. I found out I was pregnant while we were filming, so time is flying. It doesn't even seem like it's been that long.
"I always wanted a big family so I think with this last one, she's just the perfect number to finish it off."
3. She pitched Selling Tampa by sliding into Adam Divello's DMs
Rosado knew her team were doing incredible things at Allure Realty, and she felt it was important to share their talent with the world.
She decided the best way to do so would be to make a reality show, and after watching Selling Sunset she decided to contact producer Adam Divello by sliding into his DMs.
While speaking to Glamour, she said of her reasoning: "I thought it was time to turn the spotlight on us and began contacting various people I knew in the television industry to see if they were interested."
4. She knows the Selling Sunset crew
Rosado is firmly in the family as she told Glamour that Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, and Mary Fitzgerald are in touch with her.
Chrishell, Christine and Mary told Rosado that they can offer advice whenever she needs it and said they will always be "there for [her]" in future.
5. She has several years of experience as a real estate agent
Rosado may have been in the army until 2019, which is the year she created Allure Realty, but she actually worked as a real estate professional before that.
The broker worked part time in the field since 2017, balancing the role with her regular job in the U.S. Army, according to CNBC.
Selling Tampa Season 1 is available to stream globally on Netflix now.
