Robert F Kennedy Jr. has been accused of election fraud by voting in New York. A court had already decided that New York is not his official residence.
Newsweek sought email comment from RFK Jr's attorney on Thursday.
Why It Matters
Donald Trump has named RFK Jr. as his Health and Human Services Secretary, one of the most important positions in the federal government.

Any potential voter fraud is likely to be raised during his Senate confirmation hearings.
The group who filed the complaint against RFK have suggested he may have committed a felony, which could also hinder RFK's confirmation.

What To Know
The complaint was filed with the New York Board of Elections by watchdog group, Accountable.US.
The complaint warns that RFK Jr may have committed a felony by sending his mail-in ballot from Katonah about 45 miles from New York City.
The complaint notes that, in August, 2024, a New York judge upheld a legal challenge from another watchdog group which complained that Kennedy did not live at the Katonah address.
Kennedy had claimed to the court that he had rented a room in Katonah from a childhood friend.
What People Are Saying
The Accountable.US complaint warns: "New York statute … provides that any person who '[k]nowingly gives a false residence within the election district when registering as an elector' is guilty of a felony."
"We are writing to request that your office investigate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for apparent violations of New York's Election Law by registering for and voting in the November 5th, 2024 general election from a New York residence at which he does not legally reside," the complaint states.
"According to public records, Mr. Kennedy was registered to vote in New York from the address 84 Croton Lake Rd, Katonah, 10536 at the time of the November 2024 general election."
"The polling place assigned to this address was Bedford Town House, 321 Bedford Rd, Bedford Hills, 10507. Mr. Kennedy voted by mail and his ballot was received on Nov. 2, 2024 by the Westchester county board of elections."
"The issue of Mr. Kennedy's residence was recently litigated in New York courts as a core question in a dispute about his ability to appear as a candidate for President of the United States on New York ballots.
In August 2024, the Albany County Supreme Court found that Mr. Kennedy did not legally reside in his claimed New York address under New York election law," the complaint adds.
What Happens Next
According to its website, once the New York Board of Elections receives a complaint, the Division of Election Law Enforcement Chief Enforcement Counsel (CEC) will send a letter acknowledging receipt of the complaint.
"The CEC then reviews the complaint to determine whether it involves a potential violation of the NYS Election Law," it states.
If it believes a violation may have occurred, it investigates and assigns a case number.
The investigation itself is confidential, and the board will not provide progress updates, its website adds.
