John Stones has completed a £50 million ($65 million) move from Everton to Manchester City after being named in Pep Guardiola's Champions League squad.

The 22-year-old center-back has been high on Guardiola's list of targets this summer but now the deal has been finalized between the two clubs.

Stones, who moves to the Etihad Stadium on a six-year deal, was named as part of City's Champions League squad on August 8 in preparation for the club's play-off match in the competition.

UEFA confirmed that the England defender "was included in the list sent by the club and confirmed by the FA." This process requires "verification, validation, signature and forwarding to UEFA" from the national association.
