Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever saw their season come to an end in Game 5 against the Las Vegas Aces. It was a disappointing loss, but a season that ended in an impressive run despite facing massive amounts of adversity.

For Clark, it was an extremely frustrating year. She was only able to play in 13 total games due to injuries.

Heading into the 2025 WNBA season, Clark was widely expected to be one of the favorites to win the WNBA MVP award. She was also expected to lead the Fever to serious championship contention. Unfortunately, she was unable to be on the court to make those expectations become a reality.

Despite the frustrating year, Clark's future in Indiana is extremely bright. The Fever have a very good team heading into the future, although there are some key pieces that will need to be retained during the offseason.

With that being said, Clark spoke out in her end of season press conference and opened up honestly about Indiana and her future with the franchise. It's clear that she absolutely loves the Fever and couldn't ask for more than she has received so far.

"I can't imagine myself in a better place," Clark said.

Indiana has built its entire future around Clark. While the Fever need her to get back to full health and stay that way, the first two years of her professional career have been nothing short of a massive success.

During the 2025 season in the 13 games she played, Clark was clearly hampered by her injuries. She averaged 16.5 points per game to go along with 8.8 assists, five rebounds, and 1.6 steals, while shooting 36.7 percent from the floor and 27.9 percent from the three-point line.

Thankfully, Clark is loving what she has experienced in Indiana. The Fever will be able to continue building around her long-term. That same thing cannot necessarily be said about the Chicago Sky with Angel Reese, who head into the offseason with trade speculation swirling around them.

Hopefully, the 2026 WNBA season goes much better for Clark and Indiana. She'll have an entire offseason to get healthy and will undoubtedly have a chip on her shoulder to start next season. If the Fever can retain their key free agents, they should be a top-tier championship contender next year.
