The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of defending their 2024 World Series title, but people are already speculating what the team will be doing in free agency.

The Dodgers had one of the most successful offseasons last winter, headlined by the five-year, $182 million deal for two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell. Less than a month after winning the World Series, the Dodgers had locked down one of the three highly-sought pitchers in last year's free agent class.

Signing Snell has paid dividends for LA, as evidenced by the latest masterclass performance by the southpaw in the National League Championship Series. He allowed no earned runs on one hit with 10 strikeouts in eight dominant innings against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1.
Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are the first starters since 2016 to throw eight-plus innings in consecutive postseason games for a team.

While the Dodgers largely focused on improving their pitching staff last offseason, LA will likely look to improve their outfield this winter.
More news: Mookie Betts Has Simple Reaction to Teams Walking Shohei Ohtani to Face Him
The defending champions lost six-time Gold Glover Mookie Betts in 2025 as he made the unprecedented transition to shortstop. Betts is now a finalist for a Gold Glove at shortstop, but his replacement in right field this season has performed poorly defensively.
Teoscar Hernandez is an asset to the Dodgers, but not for his defense. LA could move Hernandez back to left field, keep Andy Pages in center field, and acquire an All-Star for their hole in right field ahead of the 2026 season.
That scenario seems to be a legitimate reality as Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter suggests the Dodgers are bound to sign an All-Star outfielder.
"The Cubs are going to make a legitimate effort to re-sign Kyle Tucker in free agency, but there seems to be a growing belief that him joining the Los Angeles Dodgers is an inevitability," Reuter writes.
