The New York Yankees started the season off very strongly, going 35-22 through May. However, the team was below .500 for the next two months.
The Yankees got aggressive at the trade deadline, and one of the more shocking moves the team made was acquiring José Caballero from the Tampa Bay Rays. He has become a key part of the Yankees.
Caballero has seen more starts recently and has played multiple positions for the team. He leads all of baseball in stolen bases and is hitting .284 with an .866 OPS as a Yankee. FanSided's Jake Elman praised the move, tabbing it as one of the most "genius" moves at the deadline.

"Caballero is a pivotal reason why the Yankees still have an opportunity to win the AL East for the third time in four years," wrote Elman. "That alone warrants him a spot on this list."
The Yankees are 27-10 in games Caballero has played in. The team is 14-7 in games he has started for the team. Considering Anthony Volpe's struggles, Caballero could play an even bigger role in October, when it will be even harder to justify keeping Volpe on the field.
Caballero has brought solid defense, versatility and speed to the Yankees. No, he has a chance to make his mark on the postseason. This season is set up to be the first time he plays in the postseason. How the Yankees use him will be something to watch.
