Several months ago, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves were eliminated from the second round of the NBA Playoffs by Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

That left Minnesota looking for answers in their offseason, as the team previously reached back-to-back Western Conference Finals and seemed on the verge of their first trip to the NBA Finals.

The team made several huge trades, including moving Julius Randle in a three-team deal and also bringing LaMelo Ball to the backcourt.

And this week, the Timberwolves showed that their superstar, Ant-Man, has a new look for the offseason as the team prepares to rediscover their previous success.

On Monday, the Timberwolves revealed a series of photos showing Edwards working on his craft with a "fresh cut," as much of his hair was trimmed away, giving what some felt was a look similar to basketball legend Michael Jordan.

As of this writing, the team's social media post on X had racked up over 21,000 likes and numerous comments from fans reacting to Edwards' new look.

"One step closer bruh omg we’re getting MVP this season," a commenter wrote in the replies.

Another commenter joked, "Damn they don’t got no good barbers down there."

"Anthony Edwards isn't playing fair this season. Bring on the season already," someone replied to the post.

Others said, "Ant locked in with the fresh cut. Season about to be different," and "Ant about to go crazy this year."

Edwards was the league's third-best scorer, averaging 28.8 points per game last season with a 48.9% field goal percentage. Along with that, he grabbed five rebounds and dished out 3.8 assists per game, helping to lead the Timberwolves to a 49-33 record and sixth place in the Western Conference.

Their offseason moves could help them jump back up into the topic of contenders, although it's going to be a tough challenge in the West, especially with the rise of San Antonio, and the Oklahoma City Thunder still considered viable threats to win it all.

However, pairing Ball with Edwards in the Timberwolves backcourt seems like it could be something special. Ball had been on the rise with the Charlotte Hornets, helping them nearly achieve a postseason spot last season. Now he joins a team already built for the playoffs that also features big man Rudy Gobert.

Edwards' fresh cut may be a reflection of a fresh start ahead of the next season, with one of the NBA's most exciting stars potentially looking to prove he belongs in the MVP conversation.
