Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks is no stranger to trash talk and on-court antics, finding himself in another heated altercation during Monday night's matchup against Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors.
In the third quarter, Green was defending against the Suns' Khaman Maluach under the rim. The Warriors star jumped and grabbed the rookie center, wrapping both arms around him in an attempt to commit a foul. The referees blew the whistle as Maluach scored a basket, and Green threw him to the ground.
Green earned his first technical foul for that incident and was subsequently assessed a second technical and ejected following his confrontation with Brooks. Brooks rushed over and got in Green's face, prompting Green to grab his jersey near the neck area in the tense altercation.

Brooks claimed he was attempting to de-escalate the situation, although he also criticized Green's behavior throughout the game.
"I was just trying to de-escalate the whole thing. Did a lot there. Fell down and pushed him at the end of it. I was just trying to de-escalate it. He was tweaking all game. Let it be," he told reporters postgame.

Green's ejection may have provided a spark for the Warriors, who outscored Phoenix 42-36 in the third quarter before securing a 116-113 victory. Brooks finished the game with 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while teammate Devin Booker led the team with 26 points.
Brooks is averaging 16.8 points, four rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game this season, while shooting 41.9% from the field. He's remained among the league's polarizing players, often stirring up backlash or harsh criticism for his on-court incidents.
Green's ejection was several days after Brooks was ejected for his actions in a game against the Denver Nuggets. Brooks was ejected after he extended his leg during a jump shot and appeared to kick the Nuggets' Jamal Murray between his legs.
Murray later indicated he didn't believe Brooks intentionally kicked him or meant to cause harm, noting they are also friends and go at each other during games.
Phoenix couldn't overcome Brooks' ejection against Denver, suffering a 127-120 loss in NBA Cup group play. The Suns are off to a rough start this season with a 1-4 record after appearing as a play-in team in last year's playoffs and getting swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round.
According to StatMuse, Green has three technical fouls this season and is tied with the Houston Rockets' Jabari Smith Jr. for the league lead. Brooks isn't far behind, joining several other players with two technical fouls apiece early in the NBA season.
