According to Joel Embiid, everyone needs to "start writing articles" to help his campaign to get the Philadelphia 76ers' coaching staff and management to reconsider when he plays and when he doesn't.

On Saturday night, Embiid made a major impact in his team's third straight win to begin the season. The 76ers' big man and former NBA MVP recorded a triple-double, finishing with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in the 127-116 home victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

After that performance, Embiid spoke about the popular technique of teams resting various players, including major stars, so that they don't risk injuries and overplaying them.

"I actually want to play tomorrow, so can you guys put pressure on them?" Embiid told reporters postgame. "I don't know. You don't have to ask them, but obviously you got three days off. Could have been two ... but it doesn't really matter. It's all about, you know, the season's going well.

"I guess the more time you can get to recover, the better. And then get used to it," he said regarding resting for their next game. "But, yeah, I want to play tomorrow. So start writing articles and put pressure on them, so they'll let me play."

The team's next matchup pits them against an undefeated Detroit Pistons. They've started their season with wins over the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, two teams that made moves this offseason and are considered among Eastern Conference contenders.

The 76ers also made significant moves in their quest to win a championship, not only trading with the Celtics for Jaylen Brown, but also signing one of basketball's greatest of all time, LeBron James.

So far, those moves have paid off, with the team starting 3-0 out of the gates. With so many stars in the lineup, it seems they'll use rest management throughout the season, especially with Embiid due to him being injury prone, and James, due to his age.

James took Saturday night off and watched as his teammates got the win without him, just two nights after helping the 76ers come back from 29 points down to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers in a home victory.

The 76ers face the Pistons at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night in Philadelphia.
