The NBA All-Defensive second team consists of Toumani Camara of the Portland Trail Blazers, Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies, Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Ivica Zubac of the Los Angeles Clippers.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported the news on social media.

While Green has been a controversial figure around the NBA for years, nobody can question his ability on the defensive end of the floor. Green uses his length to disrupt opponents' offensive game plans, and he has become a pest on that end of the court.

The Warriors' entire defensive identity to tied to Green, and he has helped them dominate over the years. This year, the team paired him alongside Jimmy Butler for the second half of the season, giving them two defensive antagonizers to work with.

This seemed to open things up for the Warriors after acquiring Butler, as Golden State became one of the best teams in the NBA. Green remains a crucial piece to the puzzle for the Warriors, and this honor cements his production from the year.

Golden State did get eliminated from the postseason in the second round, but that had more to do with an injury to star guard Stephen Curry. The Warriors couldn't overcome the Minnesota Timberwolves without the star guard, even with Green and Butler.

The trio of Green, Curry, and Butler proved to work well, and the Warriors are likely to run it back. The team may try to improve the core around them, but this team has some unfinished business to attend to.

Heading into next season, the Warriors will likely base a lot around Green once again. The veteran has a few more years on his current deal and will be looking to help Golden State get at least one more title before he calls it quits.
