Some pre-snap fun with the huddle led to a surprising play for a touchdown in the Boston College Eagles' game against the visiting Florida State Seminoles.
With 4:11 remaining in the third quarter, the Eagles' offense got into a huddle and proceeded to do a "Ring Around the Rosie" circle. The players then spun out and rushed over to line up in a unique formation, catching the FSU defense off guard to match up with them.
Boston College then snapped the ball, and quarterback Mason McKenzie connected on a two-yard shovel pass to wide receiver Javarius Green for a touchdown. That helped the Eagles gain the lead, 24-21, in their ACC matchup.

It was a wild play to witness when it happened, and it is still wowing fans with the highlight video circulating on social media platforms, including X.
"Letting a football team score off this the whole staff needs to be fired," someone commented about FSU's defense and coaching staff.
Other commenters blasted FSU with "Florida State has lost all respect" and "Terrible coaching call a timeout if they start doing that."

However, many other commenters pointed out that Boston College's clever tactic and ensuing touchdown would've been much cooler and more celebrated with a win over Florida State. The Eagles went on to suffer a home loss, despite the fun play.
"No clue what that play even was, but Florida State won 31-24 anyway," a commenter reminded everyone.
Others wrote about Boston College, "this is funny just wish yall won man," and "Another disappointing loss!"
And other commenters mentioned that the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs have done this before, so Boston College was merely imitating the professionals with their wild play on Saturday.
In a January 2023 game, the Chiefs did their "Ring Around the Rosie" before scoring a touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders. A penalty negated the touchdown, but then Kansas City scored on the next play.
Unfortunately, Boston College's clever scoring play was the last touchdown they scored in that game, as the Seminoles scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to win.
With the loss on Saturday, the Eagles are now 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the conference. Their schedule won't get any easier when they face No. 11 Notre Dame on the road on Saturday, Nov. 14, so they'll need more than a few creative trick plays if they want to pull off an upset against the Fighting Irish.
