Following the San Francisco 49ers' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, there was a tense moment caught on camera where 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen argued with one another. The perceived beef between the coaches has to do with comments made by Saleh earlier, before their Week 4 showdowns.

Saleh indicated that Cohen used a legal form of "sign stealing," which led to plenty of drama between the pair.

"Liam and his staff, a couple guys coming from Minnesota, they've got a -- legally -- a really advanced signal-stealing-type system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation," Saleh said. "They do a great job of it. They formation you to just try to find any nugget they can. So we've got to be great with our signals and we've gotta be great with our communication to combat some of the tells that we might give on the field."

Cohen responded in kind by saying he would not address the situation, only that he was preparing for the match with the 49ers. Following the game, Cohen appeared to say, "Keep my name out of your mouth," which was caught on camera.
Now, Saleh has broken his silence about the on-field fight, this time stating he was simply trying to compliment the 3-1 Jaguars.
Saleh spoke to reporters about the incident, stating:
"Whatever happened on Sunday doesn't change how I feel. In my heart, I was genuinely trying to give a compliment. I own the fact that is was probably the wrong choice of words. However you want to word it, they are really good at putting their players in a position to be successful. As coaches, we are always chasing leverage ... “Every team does it. Some better than others. And it was my way of acknowledging that these guys are really, really good at it. ... I think Liam is doing a hell of a job. I really do," Saleh stated.
Cohen is doing a great job, as the Jaguars are currently 3-1 on the season. They were able to take down the 3-0 49ers, dropping them to 3-1.
Saleh attempted to take the higher ground, but he also indicated that he was not successful in relaying this information to Cohen. Both coaches might be able to bury the proverbial hatchet eventually, and Saleh's apology could help that fact down the line.
