The Pittsburgh Steelers have an Aaron Rodgers problem.
Late last month Steelers owner Art Rooney II made it clear he expected Rodgers to give the team an answer about the 2026 season ahead of the NFL draft.
"I have not talked to [Rodgers]. Coach [Mike McCarthy] has been in contact with him pretty regularly," Rooney said. "I think a decision is coming soon. I would say by the draft I would expect an answer."

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported the Steelers have still not received word on the quarterback's future plans and likely won't before the draft kicks off on Thursday.
"The #Steelers have not received word from Aaron Rodgers on his future and there is no expectation of a final decision prior to the NFL Draft, per me and @TomPelissero. When minicamp begins today under new coach Mike McCarthy, Will Howard will be QB1," Rapoport said.
In a recent interview, Rooney suggested the Steelers likely wouldn't be selecting a quarterback in the first round.
“I think I can tell you one thing, it’s probably not going to be a quarterback,” Rooney said. “But beyond that it’s wide open. Of course, it depends on what happens in front of us. But, you know, I think it’ll be exciting to build."
"A lot of interesting players in this draft. And, I think one of the — not only our first pick, but as you probably know, we have 12 selections in this Draft. So we have an opportunity to really add some talent to the roster.”
The NFL draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23 at 8 p.m. ET.
