UNC finished 4-8 and went just 2-6 against ACC competition.

Petrino spent four seasons as the head coach at Louisville before a failed 13-game stint with the Atlanta Falcons. He came back to college quickly, spending four years as the head coach at Arkansas, followed by stints with Western Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri State, and Arkansas again this year.
In addition to Petrino, Nakos reported Belichick’s short-list of OC candidates could also include San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Mick Lombardi, Houston Texans passing game coordinator Ben McDaniels, former Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, Penn State offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, and Old Dominion offensive coordinator Kevin Decker.
