The Buffalo Bills were quiet during the trade deadline, but they have now come alive with a new signing. They have officially brought back former defensive tackles Jordan Phillips and Quinton Jefferson.

Both Phillips and Jefferson have signed a one-year contract and are set to shore up the defensive line for the Bills.

Phillips had just been released by the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent a good amount of time IR due to a wrist injury. After his release, Phillips took to social media to hint at the fact that he wanted to play for the Bills again.
Initially, everyone assumed that Phillips was either hinting at the Bills to sign him or that he already knew what was going to happen. Either way, Phillips is now back in Buffalo and adds some depth to their defensive line.
Phillips had his most productive seasons with the Bills, securing 13.5 sacks and 85 total tackles in four seasons. His most successful season was in 2019 when he logged 9.5 sacks and 31 total tackles.
After less than one season with the Cowboys, Phillips is now back with the Bills while they prepare for an important playoff push.
Jefferson, on the other hand, only spent one season with the Bills. Most of his career was spent with the Seattle Seahawks. Jefferson jumped around to several other teams including the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns.
Jefferson most recently played for the Browns and was released on Nov 5. Now, he gets another chance on the roster of a Bills team that could challenge the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC crowns.
In Jefferson's nine seasons with the NFL, he has acquired 27.5 sacks and 198 total tackles.
The Bills are currently 7-2 on the season and are in a very comfortable spot to capture the AFC East crown. The second-place New York Jets have a 3-6 record, followed by the third-place Miami Dolphins at 2-6. The Dolphins and Jets were the presumed teams that were slated to challenge the Bills for the AFC East divisional title, but that does not appear to be the case.

The Bills only have the upper-echelon AFC teams to worry about right now. The biggest challenge has been their Achilles heel, which is the Chiefs. The Chiefs are currently 8-0 on the season, and are looking to be the team the beat once again.
Should the Bills want to take down their postseason rivals, they will need all the help they can get. Adding two solid veterans in Phillips and Jefferson will certainly help that case.
