The New York Jets came out swinging on Monday during the NFL’s legal tampering window.
The day started with a bang when New York sent a 2026 seventh-round pick to the division rival Miami Dolphins in exchange for All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. The Jets then promptly signed him to a three-year, $40 million contract extension.
Then in a flurry of pre-free agent deals, New York opened up the check book and agreed to terms with several defensive stars including defensive tackle David Onyemata (one year, $10.5 million), linebacker Demario Davis (two years, $22 million), and defensive ends Joseph Ossai (three years, $34.5 million) and Kingsley Enagbare (one year, $10 million).

The moves caught the attention of plenty of people around the NFL, but they also caught the attention of the Jets’ star running back Breece Hall, who is seeking a big-money deal of his own after being franchise tagged.

Hall saw the Jets’ mini spending spree, and took to social media to let the team’s front office know he wasn’t going to come cheap after seeing all of their activity on Monday.
“Damn we sure got a lot of money in Florham Park all these contracts dudes signing🤣🤣🤣,” Hall tweeted before firing off a follow-up tweet that read: “I definitely be pocket watching in free agency lmao😂😂😂😭.”
If Hall and the Jets don’t reach a long-term agreement by July 15, he will be locked into a one-year, $14.293 million deal for the 2026 season.

The 24-year-old Hall is coming off the first 1,000-yard season of his career. He rushed for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns while adding 36 catches on 48 targets for 350 yards and another score as a receiver out of the backfield.
Hall has ranked in the top 15 in the NFL in yards from scrimmage in two of the last three seasons, including finishing fourth in that category two years ago.
